What should I have ready before scheduling HVAC service?

If possible, share the system age, thermostat setting, what the equipment is doing, when the problem started, and whether you see water, ice, error codes, tripped breakers, or weak airflow. Photos or short videos can also help explain the issue.

AC repair

Cooling problems, diagnostics, and urgent issues

Should I repair or replace my AC?

That depends on the age of the system, repair cost, refrigerant type, comfort problems, energy use, equipment condition, and how often the unit has been breaking down. A diagnostic visit can help compare repair and replacement options clearly.

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Common causes include a dirty filter, restricted airflow, thermostat issue, low refrigerant, frozen coil, dirty condenser, electrical problem, weak capacitor, or failing compressor. The system should be inspected before adding refrigerant or replacing parts.

Why is there water around my indoor AC unit?

Water can come from a clogged drain line, cracked drain pan, frozen evaporator coil, dirty coil, or poor airflow. Turn the system off if water is spreading and schedule service to prevent ceiling, wall, or flooring damage.

Why does my AC keep freezing up?

Frozen coils are often caused by low airflow, a dirty filter, blocked return, dirty evaporator coil, blower issue, low refrigerant, or a refrigerant metering problem. Running the system while frozen can make the problem worse.

Is it normal for my AC to run a lot in Florida?

During hot and humid weather, longer run times can be normal. However, if the system never reaches temperature, blows warm air, short cycles, or your bill suddenly increases, it may need service or an airflow inspection.

Maintenance

Tune ups, filters, efficiency, and prevention

How often should I schedule AC maintenance?

In Central Florida, many systems benefit from maintenance at least once a year. Systems that run heavily, serve rental properties, have pets in the home, or have past drainage and airflow issues may benefit from more frequent checks.

What is included in an AC tune up?

A maintenance visit typically reviews thermostat operation, electrical components, capacitors, contactor, drain line condition, coils, filters, blower operation, airflow, temperature split, visible refrigerant concerns, and general equipment condition.

How often should I change my air filter?

Most filters should be checked every 30 days and replaced every 30 to 90 days depending on filter type, pets, dust, allergies, system runtime, and how quickly the filter loads up. A dirty filter can reduce airflow and cause breakdowns.

Can maintenance lower my electric bill?

Maintenance can help the system run cleaner and with better airflow, which may reduce wasted energy. The biggest improvements usually come from clean filters, clean coils, sealed ductwork, correct refrigerant charge, proper thermostat settings, and correctly sized equipment.

Installation & replacement

New systems, mini splits, sizing, and estimates

How do I know what size AC my home needs?

AC size depends on square footage, insulation, windows, roof, attic heat, ceiling height, ductwork, sun exposure, and home layout. A square-foot rule alone can oversize or undersize the system. You can also use the AC Size Calculator on this website for a planning estimate.

Do you install mini split systems?

Yes. Mini splits are useful for garages, additions, bedrooms, offices, converted spaces, and rooms that need targeted comfort without extending existing ductwork.

How long does AC replacement usually take?

Many standard replacements can be completed in one day, but timing depends on equipment access, ductwork, electrical needs, permits, system type, and project scope. The estimate should explain the expected schedule before work begins.

Do you remove the old AC equipment?

For replacement projects, removal of old equipment is normally included in the project plan when agreed in the estimate. Any special access, disposal, or extra work should be reviewed before the installation date.

Do new AC systems include warranties?

New equipment may include manufacturer warranty coverage, and details can vary by brand, model, registration, and installation requirements. Socra Air Solutions can review warranty information with the estimate.

Comfort & air quality

Humidity, airflow, ducts, and indoor air

Why is one room hotter than the rest of the house?

Uneven comfort can come from duct design, low airflow, insulation issues, sun exposure, closed dampers, dirty filters, return air problems, or an AC system that is not balanced for the space.

Can my HVAC system help with humidity?

Yes. Proper system sizing, airflow, coil performance, thermostat settings, drain performance, and maintenance all affect humidity control. If the home feels cold but sticky, the system may need an inspection.

Do you offer indoor air quality options?

Yes. Depending on the home, options may include better filtration, duct inspection, ventilation review, humidity control guidance, UV light options, and maintenance recommendations to help reduce dust, odors, and stale air.

When should ductwork be inspected?

Ductwork should be checked if rooms are uneven, airflow is weak, energy bills are high, dust is excessive, the system is noisy, or the home has older duct runs in a hot attic or crawl space.

Pricing & financing

Estimates, payment options, and project planning

Do you provide estimates for HVAC replacement?

Yes. For replacement or installation projects, Socra Air Solutions can review the system, comfort goals, equipment options, and project scope so you understand the quote before moving forward.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Socra Air Solutions Inc. works with Momnt and Synchrony for qualifying HVAC projects. Approval, terms, rates, and payment amounts are handled by the financing provider.

Are diagnostic fees or service charges required?

Service charges can depend on the type of visit, location, and work requested. Any diagnostic or trip charge should be confirmed when scheduling so there are no surprises.

Can I use a special offer with another discount?

Special offers and coupons are normally not combined with other discounts unless Socra Air Solutions confirms otherwise. Coupon terms should be reviewed before scheduling or approving work.
